Post Dated - Our cooking session on 25 May 2013

Bf and I love to eat Seafood Tom Yam pasta from Pastsamania so I suggested to Bf to try cooking it ourselves. It's a impromptu decision and off we went to Fairprice for our groceries shopping. All along I have been speculating that the chef at Pastamania uses tom yam spices paired with creamy mushroom base for the sauce. As such, I bought a bottle of tom yam paste that wasnt really authentic like how the actual taste should be like. Nevertheless, it turned out OK as we still can taste the "imitated" tom yam taste mixed with the mushroom alfredo sauce. It's a simple dish that doesnt required great effort. Attempted to fried onion, which didnt turn out as what we have expected. Initially, I was hoping it could be crispy and would help to enhance our pasta taste just like how other restaurant had done it, using fried onion as the garnish. I think I need more knowledge in frying food like the amount of oil to use or the perfect heat to fry something. ALthough the food did not taste like what we have at pastamania but the experience was more important. I enjoyed the process of preparation and the small argument we had along the way =) Thank you my dear for participating and going along with my impromptu suggestion.
